I took the ducati around Puerto Rico some more today. I ran into some interesting people and found some cool stuff in the rain forest.

This is the little tienda where asked for directions back to highway 3. I interrupted this womans slot machine play and she immediately returned to it after I bought a soda.

I’ve realized that I’ve taken quite a few photos of the Ducati Multistrada…in reviewing them I cant decide if it adds anything to the scene or not. At a few stops it was the only thing that looked clean or new so perhaps I hoped it would show some contrast to the way things are deteriorating.

I snapped a self portrait in a mirror.

Cathryn in Old San Juan. We rode the bike down the beach (on the road) and stopped at a few places on our way into San Juan. They have a monthly street festival and traffic was really bad. We walked into the “american bar” and talked with the old woman from Florida who served us a local beer called Medalla.

I explored several roads off Highway 3 and found some interesting buildings and homes. It seems that only every fifth house is occupied and the rest of them look like ruins in a rain forest. I guess technically they are in a rain forest, but its pretty amazing how quickly things decay. Most of these areas are similar to Hollywood Hills and I imagine that sometime in the past these may have been luxury homes. I ran across a a few of them that looked well maintained will dutiful gray haired old ladies sweeping the street in front of their homes.
