Welcome to the Wedding Blog.

This is where you’ll find all sorts of interesting information about the wedding.

Wedding Planning Trip

We’ve got everything pretty much planned out and ready to go. Last weekend Cathi and I drove to Kansas City to check out the venue and find a place for the rehearsal dinner.

We ate at two really good restaurants and decided on Le Fou Frog. If you’re milling about in KC a couple of days before the wedding you should try our second choice, Azul Latin Bistro, if its still open. When we ate there on Friday night we were the only guests but the food was phenomenal. It seems KC has just opened an area similar to St. Louis’ proposed Ballpark Village and it’s taken a lot of traffic away from the independent restaurants downtown. The food at Azul was top notch and the service was impeccable. I know what you’re thinking, if we were the only people there how could the service suck. It was amazing without being overbearing and annoying. Anyway, give it a try.

The following is a little video of the Swope Park Memorial, Plaza III Steakhouse and The Hotel Phillips. Check the links to the right for more information.

Swope Memorial – How to get there.

The Swope Memorial doesn’t show up on a search of Google Maps. It really doesn’t have an address either. Cathi and I drove around the park and found it after some searching. I’ve dropped a pin on this Google Map so you can get directions to it from your hotel or wherever you happen to be in your travels to the wedding.

It’s pretty easy to find once you get in the park and start seeing signs for the Swope Memorial Golf Course. You just drive up the hill and pass the golf course club house and you’ll see if off in the trees to the left. There’s a private parking lot so don’t worry about parking at the clubhouse, just keep driving. Be aware there are couple of golf courses in the area so look for the signs for Swope Memorial. I think the only golfer in the group is my grandmother but if you’re into golfing this seems like a pretty nice public course.
